Shopping Tip - Oilcloth 6.99 metre
I have just been reading about Silkie Sues bargain oilcloth in a shop in Bristol and told her about our local shop that I'm off to have a look round tomorrow.
I know a lot of you will have heard of Dunelm - they are really common up here in the Midlands but I know they are fairly sporadic in the south.
I went on to their website to check out the price of the oilcloth that I want to buy and found that they have started online shopping !!!
Their oilcloth is amazing - there is a choice of 5 colours in the polka dot and its only 6.99 a metre - bit different to CK.
They also do other amazing fabrics and home accessories so pop over and have a look.
I'm not on commission- honest !

I got my oilcloth (the Globaltex fake CK strawberry one) for about £5 a metre just from an ordinary habedashery a few years back. There's defo no sense in paying silly CK prices. Where she plucks her prices from I have no idea, for flippin plastic! I've noticed some what I call junk/pound shops have started selling it now too.
I don't know if they are still doing the oilcloth but the fabric department of our local Dunelm was closed on the 10th. Just to warn you in case you were going especially. Might be worth giving them a call.
That's an amazing price...I love the green polka dot ;-)
Thanks for sharing this, I've just had a look. Tried to order some samples but they charge £3.95 for postage!!! :)
Hello hun!
i love oilcloth, for a while now I've bought from John Lewis or La....both sale bargain ones....but I'll be checking out Dunhelm mill....sounds fab!xxx
I have a Dunelm Mill near me. I love going in there. and never come out empty handed. The sales are even cheaper, I got a metre of the pink polka dot for 2.99!!
It may be worth people who don't have one near them to make a list of several items, and then the 3.95 postage isnt too steep!
That green polka dot is lovely!

Thanks for the tip, will have to check out Dunelm, haven't been for ages, always cost me so much money at the checkout when I go there!
Thanks for the tip, that's really nice. I could soooo do with a new oilcloth as ours is covered in scribble and stains from tomato soup etc :-S
I've never seen a Dunelm down here but I might have to check out their website!

A very good price! I haven't been to Dunelm Mill for about 2 years, as there isn't one near me. But i have had a look at the site. x
We have a Dunelm about half an hour away from us, so Mum and I take a trundle out there every now and again. There is a Hobbycraft just round the corner from it too - it's a heavenly afternoon out! We're going during the Easter holidays - can't wait! x
Wooo hooo - good purchase!
I love finding bargins!!
May be it could be a bit of a blogging project - to list all the best places to buy the cheapest pretties?
Love Samxx
Fantastic! thanks for sharing that. We have a Dunelm near us so I think I'll pop on over!
Thanks for the tip! I bought my pink roses oilcloth at the local hardware shop (one of those that sells absolutely everything!)for about £5.00 a metre.
Just thought to let you know, that I love your creations...

That's very good cloth, at a good price. We're spoilt here in France, as all the DIY and home stores, and the markets too, have huge rolls of affordable plasticised cloth (toile ciree). I've taken to buying the offcuts and making aprons.
There is an award waiting for you at my blog!
Love the green polka dot, we don't have any Dunhelm Mills here but I'll check out their website.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I took a look at the website and I really like the colour you chose.

I'll have to check that out. I need some oilcloth and I'm sure we have a Dunhelm somewhere near. Thanks for the info.
Hello again, and thanks for your kind words! A Vide Greniers means an 'Empty Attics', literally. Frankly, it's a Car Boot Sale without the cars. People bring out their junk, their unrecognised treasures, whatever. Apparantly the American style 'garage sale' is illegal in France, so this kind of collective thing sprang up just like car boot sales did in the UK. I really can't wait...
I use the very same fabric and I have never seen it at that fantastic price! Yay!
